2005 Peugeot 307 petrol, would not start this morning. I noticed the display is showing messages in French (default?) and the date has gone. Also giving a "plip key exhausted" for both keys. Both keys can lock/unlock remotely OK. See video.
The date reset looked like a low main battery, so tried jumping it from our other car - no difference.
Apparently there is a component in the steering column that is a known weakness?
Turning the ignition produces a rapid "clack-clack" sound but the starter is not running.
