Apologies if this has been covered before.
I've recently bought a 1991 1.9 CTI and as it has done less than 5,000 miles in the last 18 years I thought I would check the tyre age even though there is plenty of tread. The oldest is 19 years old and the youngest is 9. I've therefore decided to fit some new boots. The car will be a fine weather car and will not be out in the rain if I can help it. Mileage will be less than 3000 miles per year and it won't be going anywhere near a track. What do owners recommend? The Michelin Pilot Exalte PE2 seems to get good reviews.
Does size matter? The present tyres are 195/50 R15 but I've seen it mentioned in a few places that the originals were 185/55.
As I'm new to 205's I'd be very grateful for advice.
    Thanks
    Peter H
