To fix or not to fix TITQ (Was: 206 molesters)

So I've had my 206 1.9D serviced (it runs much smoother with a full belly
of new oil, thank you) and MOT'ed _and_ had the local damage expert have
a look at my roof and bonnet which had been damaged by hooligans in a previous
    episode.

First an observation. Direct line are very insistent that I go to their
body shop to have the car fixed. However, their local bodyshop has failed
to contact me even though they are supposed to within 24 hours. I will
probably use my friendly dealer instead of the directline cowboys.)

But I digress. I gave the roof a push and it popped back out. There are
a few small dinks in the roof, but they are not at all obvious. Same for
the bonnet. Is this actually worth fixing on a 2000 X reg car?
I know I can replace the bonnet for less than my excess & loss of no-claim.
Replacing the roof with all that is involved seems risky to me and if not
done totally profesionally will look dodgy.

What loss in value can I expect on a car that has four crincles in roof
and a few in the bonnet? Will the peugeot dealer care when I want to
exchange for e.g. 307SW due to family expansion?

    Gerd.

will lose value but you have to weigh up the cost of the excess and bonus
loss against the money a dealer will knock off for the damage plus how long
do you intend keeping the car?
Try an online valuation of your car and see what the difference is between
    good and average condition.
