Hello all and happy new year. Well, I had a slight knocking from nsf, which increased to very loud quickly. I had nsf track rod a couple of months ago, and my mechanic checked everything over then, and said it was ok. I took my car back to them just before Christmas, and after checking everything over and road testing it could not conclude exactly what it was. They said it could be driveshafts, but said I could sport 600 quid but it might not cure it. The noise is loud when cruising, but if you accelerate or brake it stops. It is also quieter going uphill. Fearing the worst, I took it to Peugeot. They have diagnosed excessively worn wishbone bushes. The cost is approx £900 which I can live with. I love the car and in 5 years this is only the second time it's had to go in. The other things being the aux belt and tensioner (no regular garage will touch it because it's hybrid) and a recall early on. It's done 87k miles and drives great. The worrying thing is my local garage whom I've used for decades should have found that; they even MOT the car! Not exactly filled with confidence in them after that. Oh, and the other fault I had was the collision detection camera, which pug quoted me £850 plus vat and £80 exchange surcharge for. I got one off eBay for £20 and fitted it myself in 10 mins, after they said it had to be configured to the car. Nonsense! It works perfectly.
