  1. hi all, i have a smell that comes from my heaters when i switch them on. it
seems as if its sort of a smell of hot water if you know what i mean!! is
this the heater matrix?? how can i get around this?? is it hard to replace??
and is there any other ways arould this to bodge it up ect?? i seen a photo
of a heater matrix, it looks like a radiator inside, so im guessing it must
have a small leak. would that stuff you put in to the radiator that plugs up
    leaks work??

    Hi,

As Boxy said, about a days labour for a part that costs about £35 inc vat!

I done mine myself using an accomplice and the use of a Haynes manual!!

The complete dash needs to come out BUT, if your methodical about it, and
being careful labelling all the wires its not too difficult if you don't
mind cut hands etc... etc... :)

I did find some useful tips on the web, one being that you can part the
matrix inside the vehicle so you don't have to force out the bulk-head
grommet (which looked like a pain to get out and re-fit) and the other tip
is not to forget to adjust the brake light switch (its an adjustable mech
that gets frigged when you pull the dash out forgetting the attached wire! I
done this and put it all back together and found NO BRAKE LIGHTS!!! DOH!

    Cheers
