  1. Hi there,
can anyone tell me if a early 1994 Peugeot 405 would have an
immobiliser on it, I know that it has a remote alarm which doesn't work at the
moment, but we recently had to take the battery out and since we put it back
the car just won't start and I was wondering if the cause was an immobiliser,
if anyone can help please let me know and how to shut off the immobiliser
    without using the remote.
    Thanks a lot.
    Alexandra.

Quite likely. They were being fitted to models made in November that year. The
keypad for the immobiliser is fitted in the centre console under a lid by the
drivers elbow. When working properly, these immobilisers will survive battery
removal ok. They can only be disabled with knowledge of the correct 4 digit pin.
Either the keypad/ECU has to be decoded by specialists (web search will find them
or a new ECU supplied by Pug.
