I have lived in France for several years, before returning to the U.K. last month. I bought a 208 in France in 2012 and want to register it here in the U.K. The DVLA want to know the engine number. This is not on the French registration documents, nor on the Certificate of Conformance provided by Peugeot. The advice I have is that it is stamped on the engine block, but I cannot see it. A Peugeot garage tells me it will take two to three hours to find it at a cost of £200+. But the number must be in a Peugeot system somewhere. Phone calls to Peugeot Customer Services in the U.K. and France have produced no result so far. Any suggestions? Is the engine number the same thing as the engine code?
