non starting 406 hdi

    2000 406 hdi car wouldnt startbut after turning engine over 4 about 30
    seconds would start.this went on 4 about a week,now car wont start at
    all. had car diagnosed at local garage and they said the high presure
    pump was at fault, so had that changed car now starts up straight away
    but stalls after 10 seconds some times will run 4 30 seconds. car
    starts up straight away each time have. have changed the fuel relay by
    the ecu also since the new pump has been fitted if u turn the car of
    when its running it doesnt stop until the key is taken out has any 1
    got any ideas. have also changed the camshaft sensor. when u plug it
    into the computor it says fuel rail pressure have also changed fuel
    rail sensor, i need help

  2. Sorry to hear about your ordeal , my advice take it to a main dealer perhaps
    goodfellowsgarage walsall west mids if you are local to that area .yes main
    dealers can be expensive ,but this is a good example that its better to pay
    one bill of a said amount than x20 £50 from fred from the shed.. all the best

  3. It sound as if the lift pump in the tank might be causing problems. I agree
    with Mark B that you need to get it properly diagnosed.

    i'd rather look at the stop solenoid,


    I agree

    diag 2000 is one way to go....

  5. It hasn't got a stop solenoid mate its h.d.i remember!.
