winter when i start it up theres is a horrible high pitched screeching
sound coming from the car. was just wondering if anyone has had the
same problem and knows how to fix it. any input would be much

  2. The water pump bearing.is the most likely candidate.

Alternator belt slipping as a guess, you need to adjust it or if its old
then purchase a new belt. You can get a spray to spray on to stop it
slipping but its not the ideal solution.

Does this happen worse when you first start, then reduce later? Is it worse
    when you rev the engine?
If so then it is almost certainly a loose alternator belt. Either tighten
    it, or replace it.
Always worse in winter as the load on the alternator is higher.
