Key Fob for Peugeot 306

  1. I tried to replace the battery in the key for a 2000 (X Reg) Peugeot
    306. The key looks like this:

It worked before I replace the battery but only when quite close to
the vehicle. After replacing the battery it doesn't work at all. I
have a second key and remote locking / unlocking still works fine. I'm
assuming I have the RF version and not the IR one. Do I have to go to
a Peugeot main dealer to get it working? If so how much will it cost?

  3. Thanks but I've already looked at that site. It says it needs some
specialist equipment but no other details.

It seems to give quite easy instructions for reprogramming your key if that
    is what the problem is.

  5. The instructions are for the IR version but I have the newer RF
    version.
