    Hiya,

I am truly disappointed in my peugeot alarm. Early hours of this morning
someone tried to use a screwdriver or something to break into my car. The
window shattered and the B((*^^d went off. My car alarm did not sound at
all, although when i unlocked it the alarm light showed that it did set off.

I tried setting it off while cleaning the glass and waiting for autoglass,
and the front headlights flash but no siren !

Please advice on how to sort this problem out, i dont want to send it to
peugeot as they will charge me an arm and a leg for it.

    Thanks

I checked it and it has always been on the "ON" position. I just tried
turning it to the other position and the lights dont flash at all now....

Common problem with the peugeot alarms in older 306's. It's most
likely the siren unit under the nearside wide has had it. Usually the
rest of the alarm functions ok but the siren just doesn't make a
noise. New siren units are about £100 from Peugeot.

Check out my website below since I had the same problem.

I'm not sure it's any worse than than most of the mid 1990's 306's.
After 5 years and nearly 100,000 miles in it, I still think it's a
    great car.

  6. Doesn't sound like a lemon to me. Most of those problems are quite minor for
    the age.
