Brake Pedal Travel & Power Steering

    We have just purchased a 2013 308 1.6 diesel for my son and there are a couple of niggles I am hoping you can help me with.
    The brake pedal travels a long way before the brakes start to bite, the pads have a lot of meat left on them, is the cause adjustment or bleeding the brake system/replace the fluid? Brake reservoir is at the right levels.

    As for the power steering, seems heavy to me especially when the car is not moving, fluid level seems ok, he has the factory 18inch alloys and the tyres seem quite wide, is this cause or something else.
