Hi I'm totally new here so hope someone can help me. I have inherited my dad's 406 which I've stripped to the bare bones. It's 1999 facelift model. I have the interior completely out to assess leak damage. I've found a leak in the boot. I've changed the seal, changed the boot lid, replaced and resealed the lights. I've found water to be getting in from the strip of metal under the drivers (uk) side boot strut area. If I can attach a pic I will. It is NOT leaking from the boot seal. Please help!

Hi Donna, this is a very late response to your message regarding the leaking boot on your 406. But I’m also relatively new here and I also have a leaking boot on my 406. Funnily enough, my 406 (well, the one that has a leaking boot) is also a 1999 facelift model.

Replacing the boot lid is a fairly extreme method of trying to fix a leak, and it isn’t one that I have considered for my car. I’m sorry to learn that the problem still exists with your car.

I am trying to get my bearings on where you have taken the picture. It doesn’t look familiar to me. Is that car a saloon or estate?
