    Hi,

Can anyone help. I'm looking for a list of all the diesel engine types
manufactured by Peugeot with a possible list of all the models they've
been placed in over the years. Anyone know where I could get this
    resource?

    Thanks!!

    That’s a question and a half. I know the XUD7 that I have was
redesigned several times, so it depends on how detailed you want to
    be.

I can’t really help you but I’m sure someone on here can. I only know
    of the XUD7, XUDT7, XUD9, XUDT9 and XUDTE9 (I think those codes are
    right).
As to checking which models they were fitted to, try checking an
insurance company. They won’t have every model but they will have
most. For instance I know some 205s were fitted with the XUD9 engine
but have yet to find an insurance company which knows this.

Well the first one that comes to mind is:

    <http://mypugclub.tripod.com/id23.html>

It is not just diesels, is incomplete & may not go back as far as you
would like. But it may be that by Googling with info from it you might
    find a better online one.

Otherwise, perhaps others know of a better offline source?

    Regards

    Hi,
Most were minor mods (vacuum pump, oil filler location). The only mod which
involved the change of name was the 07/92 mod for compliance with EEC rules
    which made it a XUD7/L.
Sorry but some are wrong. Read XUD7T, XUD9T and XUD9TE instead.

    Hi,
Oh, I guess I should have a look.
    Errr, me ? :)

To make it easier, very early and bigger Diesels were called XD. One of the
very first (and I can't remember if it was on 403 or 404) was the XD88A (I
guess it was on the 404). All XD series were built by an affiliate of
    Peugeot called Indenor. Most common XDs are XD3, 2.3D (J7, J9, 504, 505,
    Ford Sierra 2.3D).

Then came the XID (1970 ?), on 204s and 304s.
    Then came the XUD (1980), 205, 309, 405, 605, 306, 406, BX, XM, Xantia...
1769cc to 2.1L (can't remember the exact capacity).
A bit later came the TUD (1.4 and 1.5), AX, 106, Saxo...
Then came the DW (206D, 306HDi, all 2.0 and 2.2 HDis are DW series).
    Then came the DV4 (1.4HDi).
The only one I really don't know is the 2.5D fit to CX, C25, J5 and 605s /
XMs. Pug made, sure, but no name in mind.

The XID was also fitted to the early 305, I had one, T reg. 1600cc OHC with
the gearbox under the engine, mini style.

    Hi,
Just a little spot on XD series, excepted it was one of the very first
automotive TDs available, it is often fit to Jeeps.
OK, finally I got the name for the 2.5TD fit to 605s : DK5ATE.

    Let's not forget the U.S. models-'74-'76 504 XD90 w/Bosch equipment. '77-'79
    XD2 w/Roto-Diesel and '80-'81 XD2 w/Bosch. Then the '81 XD2S-TD (50mm conn
rod journals) and the '82-'86 XD2S-TD(52mm conn rod journals) both
w/Bosch equipment. No U.S. diesels after '86. A big 'Thank You!' to GM for
    ruining the diesel market here.

    Hi,
I forgot the US models (close to european types), BTW the very first series
of XD TDs were reserved for export to the US, and many 505 SRDTs were used
as taxis in NYC. And I wonder, what did people think (including drivers)
about these cars, especially compared to usual taxis (IIRC, mostly Chevy or
    Ford). Any online source ?
Which may appear as amazing here, as GM is one of the most important Diesel
    engines manufacturers (through Isuzu).

the first diesel pug road car fitted was the XD85(indendor) with 66
    bhp in a 404cabriolet 1964

    http://404.tin.at/pic404rd.htm

they took an endurance test with it, driving 103 hours at top speed (
161,49 km/h) it proved economic and reliable in that "test" well over
    16.000 kM

the production models came with an XD 1 XD2 and XD88 wich later one
even evolutionised to turbo versions for the 604 and 505

later on many XUD9 were "retrofitted" in the 404 which makes it
    practically unbreakable.

at least that is the info on the 404 in the museum in Sochaux
    (visited last year)

the DW series is based on the very same lump as the XUD series
    XUD(TE) 10, 2.1 litres and XUD(TE) 12, 2.5 litres from memory.

the XUD12 is an impossible lump, same as XUD10 but with bigger bore
wich makes it less ( far less) reliable.
say any new sarcophagues lately on the a31?
i'm visiting my mother next week

    cheers

They were a big hit with both independent taxi owners and riders as they
swallowed up bumps from the thousands of potholes in NYC streets at the
time. I would not be surprised to see a couple on the road today. While
parts are still available, techs who can still repair them are hard to
    find.>
I haven't checked but I wouldn't be surprised if they were Isuzu diesels.
The GM truck Silverado uses an optional DuraMax diesel engine(very highly
rated here) designed by Isuzu and built jointly with GM.

    Hi Marc,
Wrong, it was the 403D, released in 1959, after many tests with taxis.
This car was based on a 404 cab, I agree with that.
Damn, I only visited the museum once, in 2001. There was a booklet (can't
remember if there was other versions than french), which had a line about
    the 403D release in 1959.
BTW, do you remember whether the 205 cab had a 4-gears knob ?
XUD11ATE or BTE (depending on depollution level), 2.1 12 valves. The 2.5 was
    the DK5.
XUD9, the XUD10 did not exist, and the 11 had a 12 valves head too.
No idea. Damn, they're growing up like mushrooms ! They'll put one along the
RN151 15 miles southern Auxerre (yes, I know that 'cause that's around my
house, and a concrete block with 2 wires coming from 2 holes can't be
    anything else !).
I wish you a happy motoring - once again you'll have to cope with all these
    sarkoboxes.

    with a 4 shft gearbox
like said ffrom memory, however the xud9 is the very lump fitted to my
    305....

    Hi,
Well, in the Museum we saw a 205 Cab with a 4-gears knob, I can't remember
    wether it was a BE1 or a BE3 though.
And, yes, the BE1/4 has been fit to some 205s. Indeed, came with Diesels
(XUD7+BE1/4), in general GLDs / XLDs and some XADs.
It's the same. Later XUDs were offering 70HP instead of 65, that's all.
You won't get fined as long as you live in Holland (dutch plates).
