Adding an iPod kit to a Peugeot 1007

  1. Hi all - I am looking to add an iPod kit to my Peugeot 1007. I am
fairly certain that the connects2 CTAPGIPOD010 kit is the one I should
be going for, as I have been told by a Peugeot dealer that the stereo
in my car is the same type as ones used in the current 307.

When I bought the car 2 weeks ago, the Peugeot dealer had misplaced the
service book and handbook, and have one on order for me (this worked in
my favour when paying for the car!)

Anyway, what I am worried about is that when I am fitting the iPod kit,
if I needed to unplug the head unit, are the stereos coded? I read
somewhere that the head units on peugeots from 2001+ are linked to the
vehicles VIN number rather than a 4 digit code.

I ask as I used to have a smart car and when I fitted an ipod kit to
it, the stereo wanted a 4 digit code which was with the handbook.

Am I screwed without the handbook and stereo code or is it printed
    anywhere on the headunit itself?

I don't want to try and fit an iPod kit if it means disabling the
    stereo :(

Any help would be greatly appreciated!
