ABS Problem. Help!!!

    I have a 406 HDI 110
    This week my ABS light cam on along with the Brake Warning light (!). This is intermittent. When it comes on, car locks up with you do an emergency stop. Is it faulty sensors. Dont really wont to take it to garage, as i have just shed £300 out on new Aniti Roll Bar brackets, a weld and MOT, plus new exhaust brackets.
    Please help:(:(:(
