Does anyone know if the Satnav in the 407 (it's made by NAVTEQ) can work with traffic systems?
NAVTEQ doesnt make any navigation systems, they only provide the digital road maps. the navigation system in the 407 is almost similair to the RT3 in the 307 and is made by magneti marelli. the navigation has TMC but is not yet dynamic, so it will only tell if theirs a traffic jam or so, but it wont choose or suggest a different route. with a software update medio 2005 it suppose to have dynamic TMC
Can someone please tell me if the RT3 SatNav as fitted to the 407 gives directions by voice or is it mute?
My 407 satnav (b&w) gives directions by a synthetic sounding female voice that my wife has christened Joan. There is also a male voice which sounds even more synthetic although not quite Stephen Hawking.
