407 Rear window problems

  1. I own a 3 year old 407 Exec 2.2 Auto.

For the last few weeks I have had an intermittent fault where after driving
for abut 15 miles the rear o/s window keeps opening on its own, in steps and
i can hear what sounds like a relay clicking. Sometimes I can close it
sometimes not. This goes on for about five to ten minutes then all is ok
again. I noticed today that in fact both rear windows are affected at the
same time but the n/s window is trying to close hence I hadn't noticed it
    before.

The dealer had a look but couldn't find anyghing wrong but were advised by
Peugeot to repalace the regulator on the o/s door. This seemed to work for
about three days but the fault reappeared after a bout of heavy rain.
    Coincidence or not?

The dealer is proposing to change one of the switches on the driver's door
as he suggests water is dripping in when the door is opened but I am very
doubtful this is the case as it happened tonight yet the door was dry.

Has anyne experienced anything like this or have any ideas please?

  2. I have a similar fault with my front drivers door window, though I have to
say it happens so infrequently that I can't remember the last time it
happened. I did notice however that it tended to heppen if I was resting my
arm on the window. So I am wondering if there may be a very intermittent
shorting on the wiring for the window. Sorry I can't help anymore.

I had a really silly one - the rear drivers side window opening. I'm rather
tall, so the seat is all the way back. My right elbow could actually hit
the window switch on the rear passenger door. Therefore I use the 'child
lock' switch for the rear windows to stop this happening.

  4. I have tried using the child lock but to no avail. This morning the Dealer
changed the whole switch unit on the driver's door but again after driving
about ten miles, the o/s window would open and the n/s rear window would
close at the same time. This lasted for about a minute, usually it lasts
about five. No rain or dampness around so can't blame that. The dealer is
going to have the car in next week for however long it takes to find the
fault, thankfully it is still under warranty.
I dont have a circuit diagram to hand so don't know whether it is tied in
with the multiplex system or is an independant circuit.

Your problem sounds like and electrical / electronic one when mine was
erognomic - with a workround unless I have anyone in the back - and if they
are behind me they need to have no legs as my backrest almost touches the
    rear seat!
