    Hey all
Just noticed something about the steering on my 407 2.0 HDi Sport that
raised some concers. When turning the steering wheel (especially from end
to end) there is a noticeable 'tremor' in the steering wheel accompanied a
low pitch 'rumble' from the tires. This is more noticeable on very smooth
surfaces (such as parking lot's very smooth cement surface). I contacted
my Peugeot dealer about this and they said that it is due to the
'different' approach in the steering mechanism design of the 407 along
with the 205/55R17 tires, and not to worry about it. The effect is very
noticeable and annoying and the answer sounded 'odd'. Anyone else
    experiencing this ?
I only managed to test the effect on a 407 1.6HDi non-Sport version
(205/60R16 tyres) and the 'tremor' is not there.

    Regards
    DB

knows problem; it has to do with the hydraulic tubes running nexted to
metal of the car, witch cause resonation.
your dealer can install silent blocks so the sound will be gone (mostly

    Hi again axl and all

Hmmmm. I see. So, it has nothing to do with the tyre size. The routing of
the hydraulic lines in the 1.6HDi is different ?

    Cheers

I have the same symptoms on my 307, would this also apply?

my 407 2.0 136 SE does this also, I've mentioned this to my dealer who knows
nothing about these "silent blocks", do you have any more info?
