    Hi

Purchased a HDi on a V plate. When I put the handbrake on a beep and the
display show low brake fluid level. Checked the fluid chamber and level is
    ok.

Any ideas or has this happened to you?

    Thanks

    Steve

I thought the handbrake was a totally unrelated system to the footbrake on
    the 406???

  3. On my 406 the brake pad light (like a circle in brackets with an exclamation
mark in the middle) comes on when the handbrake is applied. This is normal,
both my 405's did it as well.

Apologies because this is not really an answer, but... do you mean he
central display? Mine beeps and comes up 'handbrake on' when I pull the
handbrake... at 60mph! Well, anything over about 5mph I guess. It will
    also show 'low fuel level'.

Does anyone know what else it shows?

This is a well known fault - It is basically a faulty handrake switch
which even replaced by a peugeot dealer only costs about £35 to replace
and takes 30 mins to do.

Mine does all the above and also the STOP light stays on until engine
switched on. Is this also a fault?
