I,ve managed to get 3 in but you quessed it ,how on this earth do you get to
    the one behind the pump?
Any tips would be very helpful as short of removing the pump i just cant get at
it with various spanners and such

They are fun, aren't they. That is why Peugeot quote around 2 hours to
fit a set. I made a special bent 12mm spanner to fit in there, but
even so you can only get a short swing on it. It helps to remove the
feed pipe to the pump from the filter (16 or 17mm socket on the
special bolt). Be careful as there is a copper sealing washer either
side of the banjo connector. If you drop them they always (!) fall
behind the pump. It is helpful to have a strong extendible magnet to
get the plug out and in. Oh, and struggle!!!

Sorry it's not much help, but I ended taking my 306 to my local garage (not
dealer) just to have that one plug changed.

It's not a job for mere mortals.
I'd suggest this approach every time.
Truth is I could only manage two of em.
Ah! the old 305s....... 2 mins to swap all four... those were the days
    <sigh>.
