Hello. My adventure with the remote control of my '99 406 hdi SW keeps on
going. New batery, the light in the key works fine, but no locking or
unlocking the door. Yesterday, after about 3 weeks without working (i use
my car everyday) it suddently started to work. I felt happy. Maybe it was
good again... But no. It worked for four times (Unlock-Lock-Unlock-Lock)
and then nothing. If it was really damaged, i think it would'nt work at
all. Any suggestions on why sometimes it´s fine? Thanks in advanced

I don't profess to understand the workings of the 406 electrics, they are
far too complex for my feeble brain, and I am sure that my experience is
going to be far too simple a solution in your case.

However, when I had a whole lot of trouble with my wife's key it turned out
to be due to the minute little plastic finger that holds the battery in
place being partly broken. It was like a loose tooth, just wobbling about
and not holding the battery rigidly. I fixed it by building a
mountain of body filler around the side to support it. Never had any
    more trouble with it.

Thanks for your hel+. I guess you are referring to the light in the remote
control. There´s no problem there. it works just fine. I´m guessing the
problem must be in the receiver, 'cos sometimes it works (like this
weekend) and sometimes it doesn´t. I´m starting to get very
    disappointed... Any ideias?
