406 2.0 L auto turns off at 70°c

    Hi I've a 406 2.0i 2003 model. The car starts nicely and runs but once it gets to 70°c on the temperature gauge the car switchs off every time. What could be the problem?

    hi when you say the car switches off do you mean it wont idle, can you restart the engine after the engine has cut out....chris

    Yes... when it reach 70°c then it cuts but restart and doesn't idle

    well i would looking for a split or a disconnected vac hose on throttle body ,also clean out throttle body on butterfly
    such a job to diagnose with out seeing the car but hope this helps
