My front washer pump seems to have failed - 1992 405 TD estate. I've
taken off the spring holding clip on the big reservoir in front of the
driver, but I can't work out what fiddly movements are necessary to get
the reservoir out to change the pump. Any guidance welcome. Thanks.

No. But I have a 406 and half of the resevoir was eaten by a rat who
found the lid palatable. So things could be worse.

If it anything like the rear washer bottle and pump on my 405, then it is a
simple push fit into a rubber grommit fitted to the bottle.

Agreed , but it may be just terminals are corroded and need a clean. Worked
for me - and after raiding local scrap yard for a replacement pump!

Cheap connectors on later build models.

Thanks all. I tried cleaning the terminals and put a meter across the
pump. In the end it was the pump but I was so busy I had to get garage
to do it. £19 for pump....
    Cheers,
