405 Peugeot Remote Key Fob

Discussion in 'Peugeot 405' started by troubleinstore, Nov 3, 2004.

  1. Hello Everyone,

I am new to this NewsGroup.

The remote key fob for my Peugeot 405 (J reg) is playing up a little. I have
changed the batteries but it does not seem to have made any difference.
Sometimes it will operate the doors sometimes it won't.

Does anyone know how to get the little circuit board out of the keyfob
please. ...? If I can get it out, then I can look to see if it has a dry
    soldered joint.

    Many thanks.

Sorry mate. I just saw this.

I have a k reg and have had the same trouble. I have never been able to get
the circuit board out but when it happened (more than once) I cleaned the
contacts where they make against the batteries. A little cleaner like wd40
helps. The other thing is to make sure that the receiver is clean (it lives
near the centre mirror near your windscreen and looks like an infra-red
receiver. If you try to aim it through the glass it can be adversely
    affected too.

Take out the front bit of plastic (gently though) and you will find it
accumulates fluff which can block the signal too. Give it a clean and I'm
fairly sure it will be as right as rain.

    God luck.
