309 G1 -> TU Engine Swap?

    I have an '89 309 with the G1 type 1294cc engine (the funny slanted-over-
    at-45-degrees Simca/Talbot lump).

    The car is in excellent shape, but the engine is on its last legs.

    I'm having a lot of trouble finding a replacement G1 unit from the
    breakers, but the 1.4 TU engines fitted to later 309s seem to be readily
    available.

    My question is, how practical is it to fit the later engines into the
    earlier cars? Are there differences in the body/engine mounts? Would the
    TU engine and clutch mate up with the existing gearbox, or would I need a
    new box with the engine?

    Anyone done this swap before, or has any advice to offer?
