Hi all I have an 11 plate peugeot 308 and 2 weeks ago I was getting a loud knocking from the front on inspection with a big pry bar checking everything underneath I found nothing so I decided to look at the top strut mounts when I took the top nut off and looked inside the inner nut that tightens up on the top strut mount was slack strange I thought so took both sides of replaced both strut top mounts and replaced everything back on the car noise was gone thank god a week later noise is back same noise as before is there a known problem with this nut going slack ? Apart from taking it of again and either using thread lock on it or tacking it with a mig ,(I know not Ideal I know) I will have to buy new strut if a spring broke but no much options left I'm afraid plz give some advice.
