307 sw 110 diesel

    Can anyone help. My 307 engine is making a very loud noise as if the exhaust has blown but the exhaust is fine no leaks no holes. There is no noise a tick over only when reved. If I cover the air intake with my hand the noise goes away and returns when I take my hand off the air intake....any ideas? please
