307 Problems ? (engl. Version of Question

Discussion in 'Peugeot 307' started by Bernd Fischer, Aug 9, 2005.

  1. Hi there
just in case the solution is to find among the English speaking friends.
Does anybody know whats behind the rumor that the 307 has problems which are
so hard (or not) to fix that use-car deales start to swim in 307Œs?
Thanks for any hint which helps me to make a smart buying decision.

  2. If you use Google Groups and look back through this group, you will find
that the 307 is a bit of a disaster and the 807 does not sound too good
    either.

  3. I can honestly say that my 307 (HDI-110 D-Turbo) ran like a dream (apart
from the cost for the tires at ~£120each, that was a bit of a shock and the
windscreen wipers don't wipe to the edge of the screen making right hand
turns in rain suicidal, the carpet doesn't fit, and the CD player is
unreliable as hell) until the warranty ran out a few weeks ago, now the
    outstanding fault list is:

Faulty FAP filter, ~£600 to fix
Coolant leak, dealer has no idea where the fluid is going
    Unable to program new keys
    Suspension bushes need replacing.

Car sucks, avoid like the plague, unless you want to take mine off my hands
    ;-)

Which is all a shame as when it works I find it a really nice car to drive
    :-(

    Stephen.

C'mon. Ugly? The 307 is a sharp looking car in my opinion and wearing well,
unlike the Megane, which already looks dated. Give the 307 credit where it's
due. It needs all the credit it can get. Actually, our family 307, after
many faults in the first three years, is now working perfectly, apart from a
creaking rear door. It's like it's come of age, got over its naughty
    childhood...

  6. I see a 307: I see a van with all-round windows. Drives like one too!

The 306 on the other hand, especially the Phase 3, is still a pretty and
nimble car. That's the comparison I was making with the 307.

You are right that it needs the credit it can get, but I think it's too
late; people are waiting for the 308 already.

  7. Saw an article the other day saying that a "new" 307 is coming out soon.
Can't say any more 'cos I can't find the article now.

    Hi,
It has already been launched at least in France. I saw some of them on the
    road.

It's out and looks quite nice. Redesigned front end, new rear lights,
and a new radio/CD and display. Plus a much better multiplex system
    (Can-Can) like the 407.

Have they fixed the issue (for right-hand drive cars at least) of the
wipers not wiping 6" of the right-hand side of the windscreen?

    Hi,
Yup, I guess it's more effective than the CAN_HS / VAN mux'd systems used
before, even if it possibly is a CAN_HS / CAN_LS combination. I also hope
(and pretty sure) they still use several networks (there were 4 different
networks with the older systems, to keep the car working if one of them was
failing) with the BSI as a gateway between them.
