i'm getting fed up with this car already, only had it since this Sat! 51
plate HDI 2.0 Rapier 11500 miles just had 12000 service before i picked it
up,now it's already back in for indicator stalk, creaking when turning, loose
rattling engine undertray and to top it all off,now mainly when cold but it
is intermittent theres like a scraping noise from the car in neutral when i
press the clutch in fully it completely disappears? does this sound like
    clutch or gearbox bearing?

  2. This may be caused by the mechanical ESP feedback when "calibrating". This
short sound/vibration should appear once after starting up the car and
shifting in the 1st or 2nd gear. Then not again. If it happens multiple
times during your cruise it's not the ESP (except you're driving kind of
    reckless :) ).

Release bearing vibrating until pressing the clutch pedal puts a load on it.
Very common on FWD cars and not usually a problem.

I'm not at all sure why women like men. We're argumentative, childish,
unsociable and extremely unappealing naked. I'm quite grateful they do though.

Clutch release bearings sounds about right to me. Ive asked a few ppl
after I got my clutch done on my 306. Started making a strange noise
in neutral. Everyone says the same thing, "thats the clutch release
bearings, its ok, nothing to worry about, its normal". If its a new
car then I would think that either the clutch has been changed (dont
know why!) or the gearbox has been off. I dont recall many of my
mates with new cars complaining about noises like that. If it pisses
you off that much then take it back to the showroom and ask for
another one cos you are not happy.

    Hi Andy..

Yep it sounds like the release bearing on the clutch...i had the same
problem and the dealer changed it without any problem...it's worse now than
it was before but hey...you do own a 307 !!! pity you bought it...get rid of
it quick before you get all the other 307 problems !!!
