    Hi there,

A while ago I asked about was there any problems with the CD stackers using
CDRs where the music was distorting. I had received some valuable
information concerning CDRs that had the blue surface.

After some experimentation, I have found that the best CDRs were the Sony
    brand.

Yes it is a name brand but not personally supporting the brand but it works
    well.

I was using an old CD rewrite drive at 4x recording and verification speed.

For anyone that wishes to use recorded CDs, that is my advise.

    Kindest regards

I think; a lot of time its also the program that you burn them with that makes a difference also.
I used Prassi to burn some discs and the 307 wouldn't read them.
Then I used NERO and it did.

I had used Princos too at 4X speed but they seem to be the worst in
distortion. I had a few old BASFs lying around and why not give them a shot
    and they worked okay.

Princos are wonderful for making VCDs to be used in older style DVD players
however I am kind of intrigued about your findings compared to mine.

    Kindest regards

I am using Nero 5.5 as well but the Princos had the problems.

Like my statement at the start the Sonys are working extremely well. So far
I have copied 40 of them and 40 are working without a single error.

Maybe I purchased a good batch or the CD rewriter is the root of the
problems. The CD rewriter I am using is an old Sony CRX-100E with speeds of
    24x4x2.

    Kindest regards

Be careful with the cheapo brands, some of them flake/peel starting at
the edges very easily, especially when put in players which hold them
on rails/tracks as opposed to a single cd player which sits the cd on
    a centre spindle.
The cheap brands use cheap varnish which breaks and flakes very easy
