    Hi Guys
    Peugeot 306 XL petrol 1994
My problem is that a few weeks ago my when I turned the engine off there
was puffs of smoke coming from under the bonnet when I opened it up there
was smoke coming from, what I think is a sensor set into the carburettor
body, as you look at the carb from the front of the car its to the left of
centre between the stepper motor and the bracket that carries the throttle
adjustment its about 3/4” dia pressed into the carburettor body, the
smoking was the result of a bad earth to the engine.

Since then I keep getting a “engine failure” light coming on
intermittently and sometimes it either cuts or doesn’t want to start, then
ignition off, try again and it starts fine, this may only happen once a
    day.

Can anybody tell me what the sensor is and what it does how to replace it
and how to stop the warning light

    Cheers in advance
