306 heater problems

    I have a 1995 M reg 306 XLd, 1.9 diesel. I have only just bought it.

I have heard rumours that the early 306s had shoddy radiators so soon after
getting it I drained the radiator and re-filled it and added in some
rad-weld as well. I am pretty certain there is no air in the system as when
I open the bleed valves on the main radiator and the interior heater
    radiator water comes out.

The problem is it doesnt pump out much heat into the interior.

    Does anyone have any ideas?

I have a suspicion that the control dials on the dashboard dont do alot but
then when I take the dash apart and flick the levers behind it still makes
    no difference.

    Any tips gratefully received.
    Thanks,
    Simon
