The injector pipes in my 306 keep breaking, usually no.1. sometimes at the
injector end and sometimes at the pump end. I have changed the injectors
and wrapped PTFE tape round the threads to try and stop vibrations, this
succeeded in prolonging the life of them but they still go every couple of
    weeks.

Also if I have been driving for around an hour the engine starts to stall
when the clutch is depressed, I'm not sure if this is linked or just
    another problem.

My first thought when pipes mysteriosly break is engine mountings?
Clutch prob. could be related in some round about mechanical way.

    but then I'm not a mechanic ;-)

There should be a couple of plastic clips between the various pipes
which no doubt help to dampen out vibration a bit. However
the pipes themselves are quite heavy gauge and should be rigid.

Is something else loose and hitting against them, or have
they been replaced in the past with the wrong type of pipe?

The plastic clips are all in place and I have just fitted an extra clip
between pipes 1 & 2 in an attempt to further dampen the vibrations. I did
buy the pipes from a Peugeot dealers so they are the right type. I have
also checked the engine mounts and the fuel pump and they both appear to
be secure and nothing else seems to be loose.

The idle speed is quite low and I have thought that it might be causing
excess vibrations. I have altered the throttle stop so it doesn't drop so
low but bar tweaking the fuel pump I don't know what to do.

When you said that the pipes 'break' do you mean that they fractured
or that they just started leaking around the unions?

If it is the latter, then I'll take a guess that some sort of
pressure relief valve in the pump has gone and it is over
pressure. That may also explain the idle problems.

However that is a complete stab in the dark, and would
need someone with specialist equipment to check it out.

they do tend to split around the olive but occasionally they have completly
broken and come away. I was also thinking it may be a pressure problem,
that is why I changed the injectors. I shall take it to a specialist and
    get it checked out.

Thanks for the help and I shall let you know if it solves it.
