In the back of our 206sw (estate)

There is a 12v accessory socket.

Does anybody know what the current rating is for it?
My local dealer where it came from cant give me an answer.

    thanks.

Have a look in the handbook and see what the fuse rating is. What do you
    want to power from it?

I wouldn't want to try to pull any more than a couple of Amps through it, 5
peak at absolute max but only for a few seconds. The connectors are only
pushed together so there isn'texactly a good connection there to carry heavy
current loads or the wiring to handle it either. If you think you are going
to use it regularly wire in a dedicated high amp connector like a computer
power connector or one for R/C car battery packs on the end of some spliced
in wire. At least then you won't loose 2 or more volts across the connection
under a load of anything over 1 amp.

Thanks for that. I was hoping to be able to run an inverter for the kids to
have a laptop running for a long trip and possibly the fridge, looks like
I might have to find a plan B.

    Thanks for the advice.

Rather than running an invertor to convert 12 volts DC up to 230v AC, then
use the laptop power supply to convert that back down to 19v DC, which is
extremely inefficient in terms of 12V power consumption, you can now get
laptop power supplies which run directly off the 12V car supply, using far
    less power.
I have certainly used a fridge, or at least one of those powered cool boxes
on my 307 rear socket whith no problems at all.
