206 automatic: power "pulsation"

Discussion in 'Peugeot 206' started by dominik lenné, Jul 31, 2007.

  1. Hi,

the car has 100 HP nominally but speed doesn't exceed 115 km/h any more. The
motor accepts only very cautious and subtle use of the gas (throttle) pedal,
otherwise power breaks down. So there is no acceleration that deserves this
    name.
Above 100 km/h, speed / power pulsation occurs, that is, every 4 out of 10
seconds or so, the motor power vanishes and speed goes down some 5 to 10
km/h, then power comes back and speed goes up again the same amount and so
on. This behaviour is air temperature dependent: on very hot days (>35°C)
    everything is o.k.
Fuel consumption is up 10 to 15%.

Does anyone know the probable cause of this?

    Thanks anyway
