205 won’t accellerate!

My 205 seems suddenly seems to be losing accelleration. It’s an H reg
so is not the quickest anyway but in the last week or so the
accelleration seems to have all but dissappeared so that the car is
almost undriveable. It’s ok when it’s up to 30 but it’s embarrassingly
slow getting there and accellerating harder just revs the engine and
    it doesn’t go any faster.

A month or so ago an unnamed person, put diesel in the tank by mistake
but this was cleared out and after a week of spluttering a bit it
seemed back to normal for a couple of weeks. Could this be related or
does the problem sound like it could be something else? Help anybody?

I’ve got a Peugeot 206cc and it lost it’s acceleration last week. I’ve
been told by the Peugeot garage that it needs a new throttle body, at
    a cost of £355!

  3. When you say that the engine revs, do you mean that the engine is going
faster but the car isn't? If so then your clutch is slipping and needs
    replacement.

Otherwise changing the plugs, HT leads, oil, filter and air filter makes
a big difference. If it's been run on dodgy fuel the plugs could be all
coked up especially if it's only used for short journeys.
