205 diesel hub nuts are different sizes

    I have just installed a drive shaft from an '86 peugeot 205 into my '88 205
    and noticed that the hub nuts are different sizes (smaller on the '86). Is
    this normal, or might one of the shafts have been ground / re-threaded?

    sizes vary if the splines fit ok in the hub and gearbox then all is sweet
