106 1.1 XN circa 1990 - speedo lights flashing on and off when indicator activated

    After a recent rebuild of the dash the speedo was not illuminated just the clock
    I removed the instrument cluster to check plugs had been pushed fully home and swapped a couple of the small bulbs around to resolve the problem, seemed simple to fix.
    When I reinstated the plugs on the back of the instrument cluster none of the instrument lights worked and the speedo lights up only when indicator is activated and then flashes on and off as the indicator panel light - PLEASE HELP
    As is obvious from above I have death touch with electrics :0) :eek::confused:
