peugeot 806 year 2003

    hi i have an 806 1.9 td year.2003.. which some days will not start its only done 106.000 miles and engine is sound with no smoke .glow plug light only stayes on for a split second,could the relay be the problem if so do you no where it is.it will start with easy start .thanks for any help

    hi
    what you have to know on some vehicles the glow plug does not stay on for long but the current to the heater plugs will still be going through. what you need is a test light wich is 12v DC, connect it to the heater plug wire (+ve) the the other on is the (-ve) to the battery, put your key on and see the glow on the bulb, time how many seconds the light stays one. if it is too short for less than 4 seconds when the engine is cold. so it means there is a problem. 2 things can be the problem.
    1. the water temperature send unit
    2. glow plug relay.

    the first on is a green 2 pin connector found on the head normarly. the second is found under head light inside the engine compartment side
