    Hi,

The bottom pulley went on my 406 HDI 90, and it is the DW10TD engine.
So decided to fit new belt and water pump.
However I forgot to mark the position of the crankshaft sprocket,. put all timing pins in, done the belt, but the sprocket keeps turning from side to side when I turn engine over. Is there a position this should be in when I fitted the belt ie anticlockwise or clockwise. The trouble I'm having is the timing pin on the flywheel not locating properly. if I turn my socket on the bolt anticlockwise to take up this small amount of 4 degrees it passes the whole and if I turn it clockwise it goes past my tipex mark. I've been round mopre than 8 times now and everything feels ok, but I would like others opinions on this.
Does anyone know the degrees BTDC. I,ve done some reading other blogs and some of them say centre others say turn anticlockwise before fitting the belt. Any help would be much appreciated.

Thank you and merry Christmas to everyone
