806 engine fades then picks up again at about 2500 revs feels if turbo kicks in

    Hi Have just bought a 806 and have dicovered a fault that I hope will not be expensive to cure the engine justs fades and when the rev counter reads 2500 it has a surge of power as if the turbo if it has one kicks in it is an HDI engine .also the fuel gauge stick at half way mark but when the ignition is switched of it drops to the right hand side ie the full side of the gauge.any help you can give will be greatly appreciated
