1989 205 gti 1.9 wiper stalk replacement

    I have a replacement wiper stalk. After removing the plastic lower column shroud and removing screws to the stalk, there does not appear to be enough room to remove the stalk. I assume it is necessary to unbolt the two steering column bolts. Is this simply all that is necessary or do you have to loosen anything else.
